The thought did occur to me at the time, but then I figured it may be because your family didn't actually know me beforehand, rather than due to some desire to exclude me from the celebrations.

As I recall, Fee had forgotten it was your birthday too -- hence the cake. But I didn't realise how bad that must have looked at the time. Sorry, dude. Next year we'll put your name on the cake :-> (and have it at *your* house in London...)
