I feel it's unfair that the photo of Kim, Tony and the infamous KGB pot plant has 23 comments (at last count) while other photos have none. So in the spirit of equal opportunities I feel someone should make a comment on this photo.

Here goes:

matt looks very contented in this picture, what's happening behind the scenes?

matt:
Date: 26 Jan 2002 12:14 PM
Behind the scenes:

1. Vanilla vodka overdose.
2. My god, my head's /enormous/!
3. None of that, smutty child at the back.
4. Sorry.

matt ;)x

Ed! Ed! Come quick! Emergency!

Also, I suspect the Matts are just posting to boost their current posting stats. I will be number one poster for January 2002 if I have to bore you all to tears!

matt:
Date: 26 Jan 2002 12:28 PM
No really, Seldo, you're welcome to my stats. It's a kinda dubious honour having posted /over a quarter/ of all the comments on this site, even when you take the summer-posting frenzy into account. I shall from this point in comment only when I have something pertinent or amusing to say. (That should slow you down *significantly* - Ed).

In order to save the sanity of other visitors to the site I am willing to forgo further posts to this site this month to save us from Seldo's threats to bore us all to tears. (I thought that was my job).

Seldo:
Date: 26 Jan 2002 1:11 PM
No, no, you're both missing the point: I'm never going to have posted more than you if you guys keep replying to my posts about posting more than you, because your action renders my statement untrue, do you see?

Don't reply to this.

matt:

Okay, I won't. Surely some irony?

matt ;)x

I must admit /Im/ caught up in the paradoxical contradictions of the time-space continuum, even if nobody else is.
Watch it ppl, you'll have the Timelords on you if you keep up this sort of reckless ironing.

matt:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 2:49 PM
Yiss. I fully expect to return to this forum and see myself, but much older and with a wrinkly brow, possibly doing the gardening.

In the words of Will: reckless ironing, woo /yeah!/

matt ;)x

Seldo:

I'm sure the verb from "irony" can't be "ironing".
[goes to dictionary.com]
Hmm, a bunch of the American definitions are talking about "related to iron", which explains a lot. But there doesn't appear to *be* a verb.

However, they would like to sell me an Xcam. *&%%#!

[closes evil popup]

I'll stop now.

Matt:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 3:28 PM
I'm no expert but surely "ironying" would be a better verb to use rather than "ironing". Otherwise people might think you were smoothing your clothes with an eclectic appliance.

E. Dan:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 3:41 PM
Therein lies the irony, Matt. Ironically enough.

Ack! Seldos posting just for the sake of it! Burn him too!
<gets Amature Witchhunter's edition of the cyberbible out and nukes evil-doers into the last millennia>
Better make that two millennia back, just to be sure. And hey, hypocrisy comes with the territory!

And speaking of pickiness about choice of language, shouldn't "Yo La Tengo"? be "Ya Lo Tengo"? [rough trans: "me, i have it"(fem) / "now i have it" (masc)] Or are they being Ironic too?
/me makes note to go to Fopp and get me some.
/me also makes note to get me an eclectic appliance or two, they sound fun. Makes toast *and* washes clothes, whilst giving you a foot massage. ;-)

Ooh, mass pointage:

1. Seldo, doing something just for the sake of it? Where? ;)
2. I think ironing is a beautiful verb. But not as beautiful as the concept of an ecletic appliance: mine would do my washing and my ironing at once.
3. Yo La Tengo: band of choice.
4. Visit alpen.freewebspace.com! I don't think I've whored it nearly enough on this site.

Byee!

E. Dan:

Hehee, i think that "eclectic appliance" has a name... It wouldn't happen to cook scrumptous food for you too would it?

And you haven't whored (pimped, surely?) your site nearly enough, i had to find it through Will's journal of all places.
*hardship*
Excellent quiz thingy; much interesting info ;)

Glad you all noticed my deliberate (ahem) mistake. I like to make sure you're paying attention.

Re matt's website - already had a look (I too had to find it in Will's journal - v.v. poor advertising). Am most gratified to be included in the about you page (even if most of it is gibberish). Be warned I'm currently working on my own website (once I can work how to upload the damn thing).

E. Dan:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 5:22 PM
Ah. Interesting. I believe Ive worked out why that happened now. Foolish me.
*scribbles on notepad*

Will:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 6:22 PM
I'm still confused!

E. Dan:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 7:31 PM
Confused Will? What confuses you at this time? Come, tell uncle dan wassa matter!
...
...
And why "still"?

Seldo:

He's also been having gender issues recently.

Re: pimping websites, can I do Seldo.Com? (this comment is going to look funny if this system doesn't like HTML). I'm going to update it sometime, but it's got stuff on it anyway...

matt:
Date: 27 Jan 2002 8:43 PM
Yes, it does look funny because no, this system doesn't like HTML. And it made Will's comment box on the photos page go all wide and funny. Tee hee!

I'm watching Heartbeat. What /is/ the world coming to?

matt ;)x

Will:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 12:14 AM
No, this system doesn't support HTML I'm afraid. It converts the tags into their plaintext equivalents before putting them into the database. But just for you, Seldo, I shall manually put them in using The Power Of Rar! (Or possibly SQL for those of you in the know)

Though matt - I am confused as to how it made my text box go wider. Hmmm.

Will:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 12:24 AM
Note to Seldo: "Gender issues"?! Pot? Kettle? Black? I am reminded of a certain 'Material Girl' T-shirt.... Ooooh the power of HTML! Rar! :)

Seldo:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 8:52 AM
She-Rar?

("BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL...!" etc.)

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 1:17 PM
*matt quietly passes out the handbags*

*All lions, tigers, bears and Dans silently and with dignity pad away... Until they are out of sight, whereapon they make a yelping scurrying dash to safety*

matt:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 1:27 PM
I would love to, but I am confused beyond words. What. Is. Going. On? And who /are/ all these people? ;)

matt ;)x

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 2:04 PM
Beware RMDM power, for it shall bemuse and bamboozle you!
Also the Lions are Terence and Tara. the Tigers are Lionel and Leticia, and the bear is called Bob. Well what do you expect? Its a bear!

Do you people do no work?

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 5:37 PM
Funny you should mention that; I am the grand high king of procrastination.

matt:
Date: 28 Jan 2002 11:14 PM
"Do you people do no work?"

- I did once.

Matt I know you're desperate to maintain your position as grand high poster but posting the same comment twice is just being silly.

E. Dan:
Date: 29 Jan 2002 9:30 AM
Dual posters of the world unite!

matt: Thanks for the mention of my coat on your site =) I should direct Ben towards it too, he may find the comment on silent mike amusing. Then again he may not.

silly numbers of posts on this picture, very few of which refer to the pic at all. I hope Will isnt annoyed with us...
*simper*

Now, I seem to remember you doing that yourself some time back. I shall go and dig it out... (argh! Is stopped by Brain Police)

Speaking of which, that was meant to be "RNDM power" not "RMDM power", for which i do apologise most profusely. For RaMDoM would make no damned sense now would it?

you did youre reposting 12 second after, i did mine 14 minutes after; now that takes Class =)
