"Ooh, hello Will! Wow, what does this thing do? Ooh, it's all flashy....D'OH!!"

Are you sure you don't want to open your mouth any wider, Matt? And what a good grip you have on that bottle too! ;)

Tony:

i'm gonna puke! im gonna puke!
quick where's an ashtray?!
;o)

matt:

How *rude*! At least I can /remember/ what happened that evening...well, a bit of it, anyway.

Huff.

Cue more comments about how wide Matt's mouth is, and what he can fit in there. Tony...?

Matt:
Date: 26 Feb 2002 2:25 PM
I know Tony is small but I don't think he'd fit in Matt's mouth however wide it was.

Tony:
Date: 26 Feb 2002 2:35 PM
i'm sorry James, but it's not as wide open as yours was! no where near infact!
Just ask Will!! (see comments under school days photos)
;o)

matt:
Date: 27 Feb 2002 12:07 PM
Nope, that is true. My mouth is nowhere near as wide open as James' often is, if the stories we've heard are anything to go by. In fact, I think James may have had a hinge fitted.

Gulp.

Perhaps it's just me, but I look at this photo and the first word that comes to mind is "goldfish".

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 5:22 PM
Do you get giant bottle-swallowing matt-shaped goldfish in Trinidad then? And who is the ear in the background holding that bottle? Probably no-one I know, given they're not wearing white.

Will:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 5:49 PM
Matt's a goldfish! LOL. Still, better than being a sucker I guess. ;)

Will:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 5:54 PM
And I think you'll find that'll be me with the bottle of 'Cuban Fire' in the background. And yes - I decided not to wear white that evening. I'm just such a rebel, aren't I? ;)

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 5:54 PM
But... but... Hes not saying "Bob"! All goldfish say "Bob"! Were you saying "Bob", matt? Say it aint so! Nooo... Doe$ n0t c0mPutE!!
*frazzley frazzley death*

Will:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 6:05 PM
Hmmm, yeah. Are you sure you're not thinking of scottish goldfish there? And isn't it quite freaky that you posted that last comment 14 seconds after me?

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 6:10 PM
THE SOUND OF ONE HAND CLAPPING: Ah, so didn't actually take quite a few of these pictures? Its nice you put in an appearance, even if it is your ear =)
AN IRRESISTIBLE FORCE AND AN IMMOVABLE OBJECT: You know, you could be right. But then the scottish ones say "Help me' Bob" afaik. Which I don't. Go figure.
IF A TREE FALLS WHEN NO ONE IS THERE TO HEAR IT, DOES ANYONE CARE?:It is indeed freaky, though i remember a post where tony and seldo did it /simultaneously/.

E. Dan:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 6:17 PM
CAT WITH AN UNDECIDED MORTALITY [It aint quantum, the buggers just got nine lives is all]: Congrats on your 100th post btw Will! Welcome to the elite ;-)

Matt:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 6:37 PM
Seldo, I think comparing matt to a goldfish is unfair - Goldfish have far superior minds to sociology students.

Would scottish goldfish have kilts or would they have a tartan pattern instead.

Dan, what exactly did Tony and Seldo do /simulataneously?

Matt:
Date: 28 Feb 2002 6:38 PM
Ooh Yay!! That was my 100th post! Unfortunately I appear to be a late entrant to an increasingly undiserning group.

Seldo:
Date: 2 Mar 2002 1:57 PM
You can tell a group is undiscerning when Matt becomes a member :-)

E. Dan:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 12:50 PM
Oi! We are the elite-iverse! ^^ Just think of all the poor sods with only a couple of posts to their name, they clearly have nothing interesting to say =) As opposed to us, who dont let the fact that we have nothing interesting to say stand in the way of saying it. That made sense, right?

Seldo:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 3:00 PM
It did. In *your* universe. That's the good thing about having an elitiverse; you can make it as small as necessary for you to be infallible.

P.S. It's my word, I can spell it how I like :-) cf: Tony's many additions to the English language. In fact, I seem to recall Tony has a language of his own? Gigglespeak, or something?

matt:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 3:31 PM
It's called Tonyish. It now has around twenty-six words, which is okay because that's about as wide as Tony's volcabulary anyway. As long as he can say "Drink" "Drunk" "Give me" and "Tee hee hee" he's okay ;)

matt ;)x

E. Dan:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 5:10 PM
If you're gonna be like that Seldo, I now choose to spell Ironisim F-N-I-B. And i need to make up some more words sharpish, the old trick of fobbing off anacronisms as my own doesnt work anymore...

Matt:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 6:31 PM
What are the twenty-six words in Tonyish. I'm sure there must be more than that considering the amount of noise he makes when drunk (although I suppose that depends on whether high-pitched squealing counts as a language).

Matt:

On a completely random cross-site contamination point thingy what is Irish Man's Cream? Is it just me or does it sound vaguely dodgy? And why has Matt been enjoying so much of it recently?

Seldo:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 8:29 PM
ROFL

Bring *on* the bitch fight!

Will:
Date: 4 Mar 2002 9:37 PM
It wasn't just Matt who was drinking the Irish Man's Cream, either - Danny helped him. And they got through three bottles of it, so I heard. ;)

Tony:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 2:47 PM
In fact, myself, Becky, Danny and matt all enjoyed a large quantity of Irish Man's Cream before singing along to Dannys karaoke tape.... twice!
It was gorgeous...
And the rest of you are just jealous!
:op

matt:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 2:54 PM
Irish Man's Cream is the most gorgeous alcoholic substance known to man. As for Danny's karaoke tape - well, it's interesting.

matt ;)x

Will:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 2:58 PM
I'm sure it is. And you posted that comment two seconds after my last one. That's even scarier than Dan's one the other day! ;)

matt:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 3:00 PM
That's because I'm a scary stalker eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. However, now I'm going to Coventry to buy Topman things. Bye, internet kids.

We await the addititions to your sartorial collection with baited breath.

Seldo:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 5:05 PM
*Bated*, honey, that's *bated*. I've told you before. On this board.

Seldo:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 5:06 PM
Well, unless you mean your breath smells like fish, obviously. It's always possible that's what you meant.

E. Dan:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 5:28 PM
Pre-modernistic ironisisms are rife in the land of Warwick.
And you all smell of fish.
Y' hear?!
FISH!

Matt:
Date: 5 Mar 2002 5:59 PM
I remember being sent to Coventry (figuratively not literally) for mentioning spelling I thought we were accepting each other's grammatical deficiencies. I'm doing an econometrics project at the moment anyway - that's bound to scramble anyone's brain and hence their ability to spell.

Seldo:
Date: 6 Mar 2002 2:16 PM
I never claimed I wasn't a hypocrite. Anyway, the rules are always different for me, because I'm clearly fabulous. Or something.

Incidentally, sociologists take note: there may soon be an entire country called "Xanana's":

E. Dan:
Date: 6 Mar 2002 3:13 PM
Of course you didn't Seldo! That would horrendously hypocritical of you. Interesting use of the word "clearly" there, I must note ;-)
Anyway, we are all figments of our own imagination, so who really cares.
...
What?!?

Matt:
Date: 6 Mar 2002 3:46 PM
"fabulous" Seldo: I didn't see any reference to renaming East Timor after Mr Xanana he was just going to be president.

E Dan: If we're all figments of our own imagination how can we imagine ourselves in the first place?

Genral statement: Econometrics and statistics are the spwan of the devil and the subject and all it's proponents should be damned to the hell they came from!!

Seldo:
Date: 6 Mar 2002 4:02 PM
1. Sense of humour... calling Matt's sense of humour... oh, never mind.
2. I'm politely refraining from pointing out the four separate errors in spelling and punctuation in your last post. Surely econometrics can't be *that* taxing?

Matt:
Date: 6 Mar 2002 5:15 PM
Apologies for excessive grouchiness and lack of humour to all 'n' sundry - it's all the econometrics fault.

Yes econometrics is that taxing - you try working out the cointegration vector of a sixth-order VARX with seasonal and trends alongside the Granger Causality tests and the impulse response functions. Especially when you haven't got a clue what you're doing. Damn it to the seventh level of hell!!! (Does hell have seven levels?)

E. Dan:

Matt-
1: Re. Figments.
Don't try and poke holes in creative philosophising, as there is no fabric of logic there the poke holes in. Especially not with a paradox, coz that just makes the subject bull-shitter stroke his or her chin in a beardy manner and smile superiorly.
<beardy smiling>
2: Re. Hell.
Yes. And stop nicking my curses. =P
